What is the difference between nbn Sky Muster and Sky Muster Plus Premium?
nbn Sky Muster
Each month, services come with a designated amount of Peak and Off-Peak data usage. Peak hours are defined as the period from 7:00 AM to 1:00 AM (local time), while Off-Peak hours run from 1:00 AM to 7:00 AM(local time). Both downloads and uploads contribute to the total data consumption. Once the allocated data allowance is fully used, the service speed will be reduced to a maximum of 128/128kbps, significantly slowing down internet performance.

nbn Sky Muster Plus Premium is a satellite service with Unlimited Data Allowance! Watch Netflix and Youtube without worrying about data limits on the nbn Sky Muster Plus Premium plan. The Sky Muster Plus Premium plan offers 24×7 unlimited data allowance use meaning users no longer need to worry about managing a monthly data usage allowance. Acceptable and nbn Fair Use Policy Applies. Shaping may apply.

Is there a fee for installation?
Once your order is placed, Activ8me arranges for a nbn technician to make contact to arrange the installation time and date. Lead times on installation depends on local demand and availability of technicians in your area at the time of order, but with nbn contractors right around Australia, general estimates are between 2 and 6 weeks after placing the order. The technician will install the nbn satellite dish on your roof, as well as the nbn modem (called an NTD, or Network Termination Device) inside the house completely government subsidised for standard installations. If your property requires a non-standard installation, nbn will advise you if there are any charges involved.
nbn Sky Muster Installation
nbn Sky Muster satellite installation may require in-home cabling and include multiple devices to be installed inside and outside of your premises. The nbn equipment to be installed may include, a satellite dish (outside), an nbn modem (inside), a power pack (inside), and a wall outlet (inside). Depending on the internal or external locations, the devices installed may differ to the ones shown in the following diagram.

Is my property eligible for nbn Sky Muster?
nbn Sky Muster is available for any fixed structure in Australia where other nbn services cannot be accessed, provided the nbn and Activ8me eligibility criteria are met. If you’re unsure about your property, our team is here to help. For properties with multiple buildings, installations can be arranged for eligible structures that are occupied by residents. Your address must be outside the coverage of other nbn access technologies and additional conditions may apply. Whether your home is a donga, granny flat, house or otherwise, it does not require a phone line or proximity to 3G/4G mobile coverage for this service to be eligible.
Why won’t my address appear on your website?
If your home isn’t listed in the nbn address-checker, our team can register it with the nbn registry at no cost. Once added to the registry (typically within 24-48 hours), you can place an order for installation.
Can multiple installations occur on the one property?
Yes, multiple nbn Sky Muster services can be installed on the one property, but with a limit of one per freestanding structure. Talk to our team if you’re unsure about your property, however if there’s more than one building on your property, you can have installations on any that have residents.
Can I use this service if I am off-the-grid?
nbn Sky Muster is suitable for Off-the-grid properties. Equipment installation is possible on solar-powered homes. Let us know if you require a completely DC powered installation instead of the standard AC powered equipment.

Getting a Wi-Fi Router
You’ll need a Wi-Fi router if you wish to create a Wireless Network in your home to connect wirelessly to the internet (for instance, with a phone or tablet). You can use the service without a router if you have a single PC or another device you wish to connect to the internet via an ethernet cable plugged directly into the nbn modem (NTD). In today’s modern smartphone age, most customers prefer the simplicity of a home Wi-Fi network for wireless internet access. Activ8me can have a router posted out to you when you place your order – it will be all configured and ready to plug-and-play. Our router prices are listed above. You may be able to use another ISP’s router with our service, you will just need to ensure it’s not network locked to your old provider. We also cannot guarantee our Support team will be able to troubleshoot issues that may arise using a third-party router – our Support team will do their best to try though!
No charges until your service is activated
Once the service is activated, we’ll then send you your first invoice.
Switch the service on and off
With the option of a no lock-in contract and no setup fees, the Sky Muster service is not only great for permanent residents but also perfect for owners of holiday-homes & short stay accommodation. Once the service is installed, owners or holiday-makers can connect a new service on an existing installation very quickly, just pay for one month (or as many months as needed), then disconnect. New services on already installed Sky Muster equipment can be up-and-running within 2-48 hours.
Free Plan Changes
Customers can change plans free-of-charge at any time, with the change to take effect at the start of the next billing cycle. Customers can change plans up or down, either over the phone or online in the Member’s Area of our website. You can also choose to change between Sky Muster and Sky Muster Plus Premium services with no fees or charges. (There may be some service downtime while a change is being implemented).
