Braves rookie Didier Fuentes throws very hard and has a bright future, but he might not be ready for the majors. He's 0-3 with a 9.00 ERA in three starts, allowing a 53.5 percent hard-hit rate. The Athletics rank 10th in OPS against right-handed pitching (.736) and I like their chances to knock out Fuentes before he completes five innings.
Merrill Kelly is on the mound for Arizona, and the total is only 7.5. I think the team will help get it over as they have nine of their last 12 games. Kelly has allowed 15 runs between his last four starts, with all four going over eight runs and losing three of the four. It’s the same thing if we look at his last three outings against the Padres, where all three went over eight runs, and he lost the last two. Ketel Marte is supposed to be back in the lineup today. Over is the play.
Corey Seager is starting to heat up, now with 5 home runs in his last 10 games after going deep yesterday. He has an .866 OPS vs. right-handed pitchers compared to just .682 vs. lefties, and he's facing RHP José Soriano, against whom he's 4-5 with a home run in his career. Soriano has allowed just 4 HRs this season, but left-handed hitters are batting .268 against him. With Seager's recent power surge and past success against Soriano, we like this play at +425. We set the line at +355.
FanDuel. Hunter Brown has been virtually unhittable at home this season. Pitching to a 1.01 ERA, he’s notched 59 strikeouts in just 44.2 innings, clearing this K line in six of seven starts. He’ll now get the Guardians who are mired in a tough slump, with only a .575 OPS over the last two weeks against right handed pitching, along with a 23% strikeout rate. And the Guardians are very left-handed heavy, likely starting seven to eight southpaws in the lineup today. Brown has rung up 36.9% of lefties he’s faced. I’m personally betting this to win 1.2 betting units.
